Are the topo maps worth the money? I was thinking about purchasing some, but i dont know if i want to spend that much on them.

GPS topo maps

It really just depends on what you plan on using your GPS for. I've used topo maps a few times to help in search and rescue and they helped. It was also nice when looking for fun places to go wheeling.
For my Magellan Color, they are $150.00. I got the streets one a couple of years ago when I bought the unit. It has restaurants, marinas hotels and stuff like that. The topo, coincidently, is due today or tomorrow. Whenever you aren't on a road, it's just blank screen, other than your position. The latest from Magellan is a lot more advanced than when I first got mine. You do need one or the other though, that way there is a lot, a huge difference in detail.
