Grease on splined input/output? Mating doubler together

203 intermediate shaft going into np205 32 spline input. Do I use grease, put it in dry or use something else?

I put a dab of grease on the splines when I assembled mine.

i always put a thin layer.once the gear oil starts moving arounds it will desolve.

Guess i'm worried about nothing. Just feels like the fit is a touch sloppy. The only way it gets splashed with oil is when it seeps through the bearing. Thanks for the inut.
