With this long weekend here I REALLY REALLY wanted to get my cage farther along so I called all over for a good price. Funny thing was noone had any 1 3/4 X .120 wall DOM tube in stock. I called the local to me places, Jorgensen Steel, Tube Service, Tell Steel, and AM Castle Metals and only Jorgensen Steel had ONE single 18 footer in stock. They quoted me $4.55 per foot. Tell steel quoted me $9 bucks per foot!!! :eek1:

Then I called the place I have allways recomended, and the place I bought the tube that my cage if made from now, Totten Tubes inc. in Azuza Ca. I called them last cause just a couple of weeks ago they were out too. I didn't think they had recieved any tube in by now.

But, I gave it a shot and low and behold they had plenty. I was quoted for three 22' 6" sticks $2.65 per foot. I think that is a great price for Quality DOMESTIC tube. I will only use Domestic DOM in my cage, I will not buy import DOM tube period. So don't chime in saying you paid only a $1.95 or .75 cents or whatever you paid for DOM tube if it's import. It's cheaper for a reason IMHO. Anyways, as you can see it says good ol' WHEATLAND TUBE USA right on the tube.

This order was a VERY last minute order and I was running late. They close at 5pm. I called 5 till 5 and said I was about 25 mins away. Freeway traffic was CRAZY! John the sales rep told me "no problem, we will wait for you, don't worry about it, you will get here when ya get here."

Now that is customer service right there, they waited for me on a Long weekend Friday no less. I recommend Totten Tubes inc. to everyone 100%. Quality tube at a great price.

What a smokin' deal and great customer service...
Why not rent a trailer and keep them full length though? Or is your cage basically done and this is just for gusseting?

Rob probably has more tube in his rig than the metal supply place had in stock today. :D

It was all I could do to NOT spend a forture on tube. I'm very close to done with it. There is still more then gusseting to do but not much. I'll post pics ofcourse. This will mount the back seat, the back seat seatbelt bar, and frame tie ins. And probably leave me enough for a tube bumper.

I think the next cage I do in anything will be 1 3/4. 2" is tough to bend and more expensive. I don't think it's overkill size though. I WILL buy more tubing asap in full length. just to have it when I need it. or just to touch it and go OOOhhh, MMMmmm, yeah baby! :D:haha::haha:

Hey, Canadian tubing made by Atlas Tubing is good stuff too. Don't overlook it as it would technically be an import in the USA if it came from the Harrow Ontario plant.

When I say impost I mean China crap. I would buy Canada tube no problem.
