I'm having my cap side windows swapped out at the moment. My vent windows gaskets are shot, the gaskets on the door windows not as bad. I'm thinking of replacing them all including the rear window as it's scratched up. It looks like everything is original so I think is a worthy upgrade.

What are people's thoughts of the green tint?

I'm kinda leaning to get clear and having them tinted to the legal limit in MA.

Not a lot of options to get new glass, this is from LMC truck, what I'm not sure of is why the clear rear glass doesn't fit between 81 and 91 but the green tint does.

I believe it's because the green tint came standard starting in '81. They only list what was originally available.

Personally, I wish someone would offer the later "tinted" glass... the one that had perforated black print on it.

Mine has the perforated black print and it kinda peeled off the glass so cleaning the glass sucks. Not a fan.

Interesting. The reason I like them is because at least for me, it holds up much better than window tint.

Wouldn't you want match what's in the fiberglass top side windows? Most K5s will have the green tint, most people don't realize they have green tint because very subtle. Only non AC trucks and CUCVs will be factory clear.

Well the printed black mesh is more durable than applying tint film to a clear back window. There used to be a factory rear tinted window with the tint between the layers, but IIRC they were prone to shattering.

Leaky side window fixes. I had the side windows on the fiberglass top swapped out. It appears to still leak even though there are new gaskets from the Motor City K5 kit they sell. Is the exterior window gasket supposed to have an adhesive applied to it?

Anyone have solutions they have used to solve leak issues?

They use a sealant here in this video. If you didn't use a sealant, I believe that would be your problem.
