I recently bought an 88 suburban with 350 tbi 700r4. It smoked pretty bad on start up so I installed all new valve stem seals, intake and exhaust of course. The smoke on start up is long gone but I noticed that if I idle the truck for like 4 or 5 minutes(like sitting in the drive thru) when I take of it basically bellows grey/whiteish smoke for a little bit down the road. I did the valve seals a couple days after I bought the truck so I sont know if this is a new problem or pre-existing. Any ideas?

Whats your breather system like?
PCV without anything else open will do that. Is your carb mixture set right or is it loading up cause its to rich at idle?

The sub is stock with t.b.i. No carb Stock pcv system and its not clogged. Stock air cleaner, stock everthing.

Bad seals AND valve guides will cause this. Since you've already replaced the seals I suspect it has worn out guides.
