Griff's thread about nothing in particular.

Square headlight trucks are acceptable, but not preferred, as It just means more work, since I'd have to put the other front on it, and then paint said front clip, and obviously I'd have to change it over the older style trim.

Seriously, doing that work would take you more time than flying to Oregon on a Friday night and driving a cheap truck back over a 2-day weekend.

Friend of mine just sent me this, 81 K30 C&C, 350 and SM465 with 20K miles, 4:56 gears, Utility bed with crane and on-board air, huge winch bumper and winch. $1250 OBO, and this one is REALLY close, its less than 20 miles away.

Did you buy it yet?

It's nothing like what you said you want, but it has gotta be the most bang for your buck out of the ideas you have put forth.

It very much is, and I only found out about it about 5 minutes ago, Theres no number to call, so I'll email him.

And yeah, it's the cheapest (running) by far the beefiest, and the closest truck I've found yet, and looking at it, it looks like the cab might even be halfway solid.

There is one minor problem that is worth considering.

This truck has none of the characteristics that you originally said you wanted. It's only virtue, AFAIK, is being cheap. :dunno:

I like the cab and chassis dualies cuz I believe they have the narrow dual rear axle so its like a skinny dually. There's a guy here in moab with one and the brake backing plates are right up against the springs versus a normal dually that has like 4-5" of space. not sure if it's all of the c&c dualies though. His is mid to late 70s.

Maybe you just need to have one of the Nebraska guys or one of the West Slope guys buy you a truck, and just go for it.

Youre kinda like a woman looking at shoes. Just pick one already

You guys remember that saying about flattened squirrels, right?

The guy with the yellow K30 with the utlity bed won't send me an email, and he didnt put a phone number. Damn it.

Found this, WAAY out of my price range, but it sure is nice to look at.

78 K20 Scottsdale, $6500, Though some cretin has vandalized it's interior with a GMT400 steering wheel.

I think I've finally come to a conclusion, I'll keep the white Blazer, It won't be my ultimate end goal, but I think with some big tires, more power, and some paint, there's no reason it can't be some fun,

Yesterday I got a good hood, drivers side fender, blue cloth buckets, blue cloth rear seat, blue factory console, cab carpet, some interior plastic trim, and guage cluster with a factory oil pressure, temp, and voltmeter guages, out of an 89 Suburban my friend was fixing to scrap, all to the tune of $130, I'm trying to talk him out of it's TBI 454 as well.

When I get my next paycheck I think I'm going to order this 4 inch Zone lift.

For paint, I think I'm just going to go with some enamel tractor paint, If I can make it a good 50 ft truck, that'd be good with me.

In case anyone forgot what my white Blazer looks like.

I'd wheel it

3/4 ton swap. 35s. Mission accomplished. 4.56 would be ideal but keep it in 3rd below 55-60 and always kick it down quick and the trannys will last with a cooler. The BBC would certainly help.

Wait...you have a white Blazer? I think we all kinda lost track of that over the last 335 posts...

P.S. - it already looks 50-foot good, you don't hafta paint it unless you want to...

The Suburban my friend is scrapping has a G80 full float 14 in the back, but he's not sure of the gearing in it, but it's in the same boat as the 454, he's wanting to put them in his firewood truck.

Paint wise, if it was pretty much any other color, I wouldn't mind, but I really, really want the white cab and top, which on a white truck, is kind of hard. I want to do the IH red, but it was a blue truck originally, and when you can plainly tell a vehicle has been repainted, it bugs the shit out of me, so it'll be some shade of blue.
