Griff's thread about nothing in particular.

Hmm, I guess It would have to be a 205, I don't think you could ever get a TH400/NP208 together from the factory.

I'll have to look tomorrow.

I bought some stuff today, don't mind the green carpet, it's from a Suburban and getting cut down. And the hood has the holes already drilled for the ever glorious hood ornament.

Anyone interested in an absolutely perfect grey/blue Suburban headliner? No nicks or tears, no sag, looks brand new.

It's definitely a lighter color than the seats are. I guess it would be grey, Being in a blue truck with a blue interior might it have made me think it was blue.

'Cause the blue that I can see in that picture is definitely blue. The blue that matches my Suburban.

It's all from that same truck, I didn't grab the headliner as I didn't really want to cut it up to try putting it in a Blazer.

I said grey/blue because I wasn't really sure if was blue or grey, I do know that it is absolutely perfect.

'Burb headliner is in two pieces, should be easy to put in the back of an unloaded K5.

:doah:

I'm sure it would, though I'm highly doubtful I could install it in a K5 without it looking like a hacked up mess.

Why not? The center seam is covered by trim. Cut off a couple feet in the middle and your only issue will be the cab/cap seam. The rest of the roof line appears to be pretty similar. Or you could just cover the back part with one piece and line the cab with the other, ignoring the seam's protrusion altogether.

I've been thinking about engine options, seeing as how my buddy with that TBI 454 really wants to put it in his 72 C20, I'm kind of stuck as to what to do, Should I try to rebuild the 350 that's in it? It runs like a top, but has absolutely no power, it couldn't break 31's loose in gravel.
There are half a dozen SBC's I could buy from half a dozen people around here, cheapest one being a $600 79 350 out of a Caprice, and the most expensive one is an $1100 4 bolt main 355 with around 425 HP.
Big block Chevy's are out of the question, a 300,000 mile 80's 454 needing a rebuild is still a solid $1,000.
BOP big blocks are cheap enough, say $300 - $500 for a running 72 455, just they are few and far between.

Any ideas?

No love for used motors really. Rebuilding yours is a decent bet.

I might suggest a good tune up and fresh mufflers first
