Does anyone know where to find the grill changes for each year both chevy and gmc? The grill im looking for is the counter sunk grill prob 73-76? LMC has a bunch of differnt grills but none realy show what im looking for.
y 77 GMC grill is flush with the chrome molding and id like to replace it with the one that sits back a little bit. Thanks guys.

keep us all posted. Got tired of looking after my 77 chevy lost the grille hunting. went to the junk yard just to keep rocks and crap out of it, but it looks bad.

On the Chevy's the sunk in look was on the 73,74 trucks . 75 & 76 were similar to the 77,78 grills but had differences.

Somebody on here has listed all the show room booklets for every year Blazer and they show several pics of every year truck grills .

the sunk in look is the 73 / 74 trucks as mentioned above. They also are not produced aftermarket...

I've got a NOS 74 grill sitting in my parts shed, but I dunno how a guy could safely ship the thing down there

Lol I won't tell you that I scraped one cuz I couldn't get rid of it, well the whole front sheetmetal really:doah:

If you do get a '73-'74 or '75-'76 GMC grille, you'll have to get the '73-'76 brackets and the hood release handle & bracket. They are "countersunk" as well to match that grille.

Yep, '73 and '74 are the recessed. That's why they're my favorites. I was told that I needed the radiator supports and mounting hardware to mount a '73 grille in my '75 K5. I just took some metal strips and metal screws and it's worked fine............pic!

Ok yall I had an idea, I happen to have a stainless tube grill for the 81+ trucks and I also have some 3" stainless strap and about half a roll of stainless wire at my cousins shop. Im thinking about cutting the grill to fit the opening, then run the strap around the outside to make the recessed part and weld them together. Notch the 2 vertical supports behind the grill to fit it all in there, and slightly bend the hood relese up so it dont hang down. Provideing that tube grill is still in good condition, as it has been in the back of my garage for a few years. Im gunna go dig it out and see if its still straight, update in a few.

Or that works too!

I once (gulp) cut up a '73 grille in order to get it fit on a '78 truck I had back in highschool. I couldn't locate the bracketry for the hood release (I probably just didn't look hard enough) and just cut the center to allow the grille to slide back into place. Yeah. It looked like crap. I have a pic of it I'll post when I get home...:doah: I eventually swapped out to a '75 grille since I had a hood release for it.

Here's the '73 Grille I butchered to fit my truck back in highschool. :doah: You can see the center section cut out and I didn't get it quite perfectly in there either...

On a side note, that's a rattle-can paint job...
