I’ve got a 87 blazer my grille is toast , I want to put in this one from lmc part number 38-4158 but the one they reccomend is 38-4159 I understand the dual head light or single . But they look very similar even the light bezels and says 85-88 has anyone tried this ? There’s no emblem for 38-4159 ?

Top one is for the painted to match center strip and bottom one is for the lower optioned trucks that had single headlights.
The dual headlights stripe is much larger.
Both grilles shown here. Hope that sorts it out.

Grilles all swap. No issue there. It might look bad if they lines dont match up at the bezels.

Can you throw a tape on them and give me a measurement when you can if not no worries.

Only fitment difference I've ever seen in the '81-88 grilles is in the lower attaching points. I've seen the lower filler panel to match, so I know it wasn't an aftermarket mistake. Either the outside two lower mounting points are behind the grill, or on the outside edge. I believe behind is more common, but I assume it's a year difference.

Are the emblems the same physical size? I almost think the thin single headlight grille looks better...

I do too that the one I want to go with . The difference in emblems is the thick one bolts on and the thin one is glued on .

Yeah, dimensions are all the same.

I'm wondering if the bolt on emblem could be made to fit the other grille. If the emblem is the same size, I would think it might...

That issue is the other way around I can’t find a bolt on one , which goes to the thick grille and the ones I do find are expensive! That’s why I wanna use the thin grille with the available emblem.

The cucv thin grill I showed has a bolt on emblem on it. Same as the other grill OEM grill has the indents and everything already there.

Hmm. Anyone repopping those dirt cheap? For $30 I might try a cheapy and see what it looks like. I'm guessing LMC wants substantially more than $30. :)

Slightly off-topic, but the cheap grille I have on the truck now was just a test fit, some 5+ years later it's holding up great. Surprising how well it fit and was finished.

I can't access the parts manuals here, but I'd like to look up the PN and see if it's still being sold. Probably not, but I can guarantee if it is, GM is getting nowhere near that.

And he's going to be lucky to get that price, ever.

Ohh I know lol just saw how ridiculous it was there’s a couple on eBay priced this way but most are used and around forty bucks.
