Dudes, I hate to say it, .............
the jimmy aint makin it to the Tellico run this year. [weeping]
I just got up under the rear to change the diff fluid and to inspect the rear to make sure everything was "co-sure" and low and behold, my damn spiders are all but "GONE", the pin is wobbling around bad in the carrier. No big deal right, I go to swap it out with a LSD my uncle was going to sell me for cheap, well it turned out to be a 12 bolt carrier. [weeping again] I know, your thinking just replace the spiders and live with it through this trip. [weeping profusely]
Here is where the bad part comes in...... I had to destroy the old carrier getting it out. The GDMF'n retainer screw for the center pin broke off. So I proceeded to use,....whats that word???? uuuummmm, oh yeah, the "FORCE" of the almighty, YES, thats right, the BFH!!!!!!! I got it out alright, pushed the screw right through the side of the carrier.
Anyways, now that Im out of tears heavly dose on the brain grenades, Im off to spend my tire money on new gears, LSD carrier, and an instal kit. Think I will replace the axles and bearings and the whole works "while Im in there". You know the routine. The one good thing about it is that I get to be the student during the gears setup process free of charge.
So you see, with a little pain and suffering and pure endearment good things do happen in the long run.
My only other question is that if I still want to go, I will be able to drive the bad boy out there, but my gears are going to be mis matched, cause I cant afford to redo the front and the back at the same time. Plus the wifes birthday is coming up and I promised myself I'd buy her some diamond earings this year. [thinking....damn, Am I getting older already??]
LOL!!! You know your getting old when your wife is more important than your Blazer!!! LOL!!!!!
I was wondering if I might be able to get some pony rides with you guys, I'll be a spotter, help you push, pull or drag it in, oopps, I mean out.
Let me know, if you'll have a small quadrant available in the corner of your rig for me to cop a ride. [ on the trails that is ]
Will work for parts, beer and sex.
