Been away from 4x4's for awhile, got into muscle cars ?! anyway is it true denmans ground hawgs are no longer available or is there any place that has old/new stock? looking for 38-44s or whats the best out there that will last on the street?

they haven't been made in a long time and likely any you find will be dry rotted.

Depending on the rim size and budget there are several options.

What level of off road are you planning? Heavy rocks/mud or are they just big tires for look? If your pockets are deep Toyo MT's are good. Super Swamper, Mickey Thompson, Goodyear and BFGoodrich all have options in the sizes you want. Plus some other companies I have forgotten I'm sure.

If you find some Hawgs don't drive on them, they may be valuable antiques by now. :rotfl:

Welcome back to the off-road world! :waytogo: Of course depending on your rigs purpose, there has been some good alternatives mentioned other than the old school Ground Hawgs.. Too bad they are gone though, I love mine and I'm not looking forward to the day I have to replace them.

Some were on my blazer when I got it but one didn't hold air and had a bad spot on it. Just keep in mind their 38.5s only measure out to be 36s and they aren't as wide as they say either

I got a new set of 38 radials for 16" rim

plan on using them at some point here on a project or who knows what .

I use to have a problem with buying tires before a project was done . :doah:

actually, building a plow truck, saw one last year 12" lift, 44's, custom plow, 400sbc th400, could move mountains! not many places to mud around here except 1hr away, plus my kid tried mudding in a field locally and got shot @. ill stick to snow.

dig the build thread ! thats exactly same 89 i have and same build ideas, same pictures i could show from 1982 w/ 1/2ton' 38's' kid no taller than tire thanks for memories and build techniques. still wish they made 44' hawgs

I wish Ground Hawgs were still in production. Love those tires. I still have a set of 17/40-16.5 Ground Hawgs that used to be my winter tires on my F350. They wore like iron.

Now I have never plowed anything so I'm only guessing you're gonna want something with decent tread siping. Big think blocks and ice dont work very well together.
Don't know if they're any good in weather but these are badass everywhere else. Pitbulls...
