Just finished a mess of things with the Grump (1990 Jimmy 6.2 Banks Sidewinder, 343:1 G80). Had the turbo rebuilt, replaced the crossover pipe ($340 from Banks OUCH) flushed the injectors, rebuilt the steering column (not as hard as it looks). Only issue was I had to dream up something to pull the pins, other than that, cake. Got rid of the clunky looking Banks filter box. Now he pulls really hard and sounds killer when the turbo spools up. He ain't real fast but sure sounds like it. Pics when I figure out how. Still a work in progress but he's rollin':woot:

PICTURES!!!!!

I am getting ready to drop in my freshened up motor and seriously thinking about grabbing a Banks kit before I do.

Mine perks right up. Had the kit when I bought it but turbo was trashed and cross over pipe was broken. So basically no turbo. Got turbo rebuilt and new pipe. Now has lots of power (for that engine). If you have not stuffed it, I would highly recommend the head studs and crank girdle. If you're going to Banks it.

What did you replace the Banks filter box with? I've been thinking about doing it myself, might end up being a fab project down the road here, already have enough on my plate!

Want to snorkel it on the next iteration, so have to figure out a side exit for that box. Really, i'll probably end up building something I suppose, but curious what others are doing!

Got 90 degree bend from Advance and cone filter. Wiggles right inbetween the radiator and the battery. Still a work inprogress. Got figure out how to route the CDV. On the banks it fed into the bottom and was un filtered into the turbo. Right now mine just feeds to the front of the cone filter. Pics when I can get it away from my daughter.
