I was looking at another post and it said that a GT5 is 4.10 ratio. I lifted my 91 and did the tire to drive shaft thing and came close to 4 to 1. Is GT4 3.73?

You got it right, buddy!!!!! The rest of the diff codes are:

GU2- 2.73
GU4- 3.08
GU5- 3.23
GU6- 3.42
GT4 or 5X1- 3.73
GT5 or GT8- 4.10
G80- Limited Slip Diff

I can't find any of those in my truck. it says varible ratio power and is like n41 i think. I'm so confused.

N41 refers to your power steering system. Right from the GM code book:

N41- Steering, Power, Variable Ratio

I'm not sure what that means though. Maybe something to do with the gearing in the steering box?

The codes that deal with Axles and Axle ratios almost always start with F, G or H. Do you have any of those? Let me know and I'll decipher them for you............

Your ratio should be listed in the glove box on a sheet with your options. It will read 3.73's if you have them and not codes like the newer vehicles...
