ok ok...i have autometer guages in my truck with stock dash..
but i have a full convertible that i like to leave the top off.
how do you guys protect your guages from thef with the top off?
any metal infornt of them or something welded here and there?

Trunk monkey?

But seriously, they should be fastened well enough to not be stolen. Ive never heard of anyone stealing guages, but im sure somebody would.

there a guy a few blocks away from me that had all of his autometers ripped off out of his 67 chevy 4x4. Really sucked too, lots of money gone in gauges.

The ricer guys really like silver and white-faced gauges, so those are at an added risk of theft if you have them. Parking in a locked garage or a controlled, guarded lot really helps.

How about some stickers to go over the gauge faces to make them look broken or really cheap. Or get a replica of a stock dash that sticks on top.

wouldnt that defeat the purpose of having over $800 dollars worth of gauges? :shame: Or you could do some redneck engunuity...make a steel box that has some really thick plexy glass face and run some big bolts through the box and into the dash frame or firewall if possible. Unfortunately if thiefs want it, theyll get it one way or another. People will do stupid things for stuff and would probably just steal the whole truck just for the gauges.
