Hey guys I want to get some parts ordered up this week and have them sent home so I'll have something to do during Christmas break...

I have yet to install a Tranny Temp guage so any suggestions here? I have seen some that you drill a hole in your pan and thread the sending unit in... anyways suggestions for a complete kit would be appreciated...
(I was thinking of putting the temp guage in place of the factory clock since I don't use it if they make one that small)...

Secondly my oil pressure guage hasn't ever really worked since I've owned the truck... anyone make a kit to replace the guage and sending unit? Again keeping it in the factory location would be nice...

Oh and obviously this is all on my '85 K10...

Thanks!

btt...

Maybe I should have specified I'm just looking for ideas here, what do you run? Just trying to see what is worth the money...

I suggest picking up the remote filter kit from Perma Cool. If you get the deluxe kit ($90 IIRC), it comes with a built in sender, as well as a temp gauge.

I put an Auto Meter gauge in my 91. Same place as where the clock goes. IIRC I had to remove some plastic to get it to fit. My sensor is currently in the high pressure port. I plan on moving it to the pan.

ah crap my post didn't go through

i have a 700r4 as well, there is a place you can just screw it right into..its by the overdrive harness on the driver side, i called auto meter and they told me that and ilooked, they were right! i didn't install that or my new trans cooler yet but i will let you know how that goes as well..here are the things i ordered, it was about 70 bucks or so

Thanks... I already have a big stacked plate B&M trans cooler so I'm just looking for a sender/guage...

That looks like a pretty good deal since it has the sending unit and adapters with it... did they say if its on all 700r4's? Although my truck is an '85 it has a 2nd gen 700r4...

The truck is in Cali... I'm in Texas :)
I'll be back after next week though and then I can get started...

Yeah if you're under there snap a pic so I know what to look for... thanks!

i edited my post, look up above at post #8
