Remember the saying about budgets.
figure out how long and how much something is going to take/cost then double it and you will be close to the actual

Well my Blazer is still in the paint shop and i think i have got all the trim/ weatherstrip pieces ready to go.
most of the suspension pieces are here

so i started adding up what i have spent so far and DAMN was i off on my guess from when i started.

Granted what started out as a simple just touch up the paint and it will be fine turned into a lets strip the whole thing and do it right. then the just throw on a 4" lift with blocks in the back became well i should regear it and rebuild the axles , oh wait better yet how about 1 ton axles, then may as well do do SPE since i need new driveshafts, heck going that far so may as well do coilovers, well since its getting all that cool stuff may as well get real deadlock wheels and if 35" tires are good than 37" will be better. must admit i have been having a good time researching parts getting ideas and figuring out what i want the end result to be. plus doing it all at once will be better in the long run.
Also helping a friend build one for his daughter at the same time so ordering two of everything makes it seem way expensive

The worse part of this is i miss driving it

Rule #1 is "Deny, deny, deny"
Rule #2 is "set precedent before she can"

I agree that yours is in the top 5 though.

Dirtbag for life!

Yep, never add up costs, never leave a paper trail. Besides, cost doesn't matter in the long run. Build it how you want.

I just keep the big items receipt....I just don't look at the price until years later....Then they look like a bargain compared to what I could get it for now.

"Once you decide that you want something, that is when you get screwed."

It usually applies to a new, gun, car, truck or toy. But, , it can also apply to wanting something done a certain way, and you don't really care, or monitor what it costs...and before long, you could have bought a brand new one for less.

"If it ain't broke--don't fix it" was probably the sagest advice my dad gave me,when it comes to anything mechanical.....

Applies to women too...

Yeah I'm not about to let the wife know how much i'm spending, if i did she would probably say that she needs a new purse ( and i can buy a lot of parts for the cost of one of her purses )

Back in December my wife asked me how much I had spent on the K5. I honestly always thought honesty was the best policy, not so much in this case. I almost got a divorce for Christmas.

Dude, that's like honestly answering your wife when she asks if "these pants make my ass look fat?"

No dear, your ass makes your ass look fat...it's not the pants at all.

A happy wife is one that does not ever find out what you have spent on the K5. Do you think she'll ever tell you how much she has spent on shoes?
