Ok so back in 1997 a guy sold me 4x12" leafs and installed them...long story.. but anyway I got screwed on the deal... another long story...

but all in all.. I am now realizing that I may not have 12" rear leafs.... so if you could....

1. put a string from eye to eye....
2. use a tape and measure down from string to bottom of leaf pack....

what do you have?

I have 12.5" with weight on the truck.... however.... I Know rear leafs already have a arch in them so im guessing I have 8" rears.....:doah:

if you do have 8" rears, get a shackle flip, then you'll be riding even, and riding high :D

my truck was up high... but NJ lift laws do not allow it any higher than it is now....

13" front leafs...
supposedly 12" rear leafs....
3" body lift
old 40" hawgs
was going with rockwells and 53's ... if NJ didnt change their laws....

if you look hard enough there is even a front dshaft :haha:

How much rear block does the truck have?

all 12"and 10" lifts come with a 8" rear spring and the apprpriate block a 12" lift rear spring would be a custom deal

had the stock tapered block... 2.5" on one side and 2.75 on the other

No such thing as stock blocks on our trucks, GM used springs only so that block should be part of the lift kit. Also, I don't know of any manufacturer that makes an off the shelf rear spring larger than 8" so I would say you've got 8" rear springs with the accompanying block for a 10" kit. Custom springs are usually the exception plus I doubt anyone would have custom springs built and not eliminate the need for a block.

i bought the truck back in 1990 and did a body swap to it... basically it was a 1979 chevy 3/4 ton camper special 8400gvrw... maybe that is why there was a block...

the guy i bought the truck from barely did an oil change less add a block to a truck that was not lifted.....
