Im almost to the point of ordering the drive shafts. im thinking the 42° front 1 ton shaft and a 2 piece rear shaft. Who here has used Jess and what prices did he give you ? Thank you
@53chevy isnt your project still just a frame? If so, I'd wait until it's mostly assembled for proper ride height (driveshaft length) and measure suspension travel (min / max driveshaft lengths). Nothing worse than having to modify an unused $1000 driveshaft.
That said, I've never bought a new shaft from Jesse but I have bought parts, always nice, professional and quick. I did luck up and bought a barely used 42* CV shaft with the 38* pinion flange from a guy parting a buggy, really nice stuff and I'm very happy with it.
why do you need a CV?
a buddy has built a 900 dollar 1480 ujoint front shaft that does very well. he also has a fence post rear shaft that is miraculously still together.
Boosted launches and landing with the throttle to the floor.
I have a HAD rear shaft in my SAS truck. 1350 2 piece, was around 1200 bucks. Its a nice unit. Customer service was decent. If I had it to do over again I would find a superduty shaft and cut it down and be money ahead.
