just wondering were you guys get the o-rings for the split rim hmmwv rims.

i might go hmmwv rims b/c i can get them for free, and i already have a set of 38x12.5x16.5 tsl's, but i also already have 2 sets of H2 wheels that i got for free, i just have to get 17" tires

It's been awhile, but I think I posted GM part numbers for some of the rings here, as I recall, there were two different styles?

I'm certainly no expert, just happened to be someplace and saw the o-rings, decided to grab the part number.

USA 6x6 has them but the service sucks, took me over a month after they charged my card to get the parts.

There are 2 styles the older 8 bolts and 12 bolts use the same type then the newer 12 bolts with the extra hole use another type

They are black, old type, and red, new type, and can usually be found on eBay. Prices are all over the place so check around;)

Oops! Edited possible bad info out!

Here are the new "red" ones.

I stole these.lol;) You can get the pinch nuts @ Fastenall. I bought my first set there. E-Bay for the o-rings. The valve stems are a b!tch to find....good luck on them.

Any numbers/info on the other bag? I'd given up on finding them and thought I'd drill the slots to round. Plenty of options then:rolleyes:

NorCalKid, there are two types. The 12 bolt rims have a slotted type I am whining about. The older 8 bolt have round holes and you can find replacements easily.

no numbers on the other bag. There are two types of 12 bolts. The current is rated for 3800lbs per wheel for the up-armored HMMWV.These have the weight rating stamped on them. The older 12bolt wheel is thinner prior to all the armor.

I haven't drilled any of the slotted 12b for reg. v-stems but I hear thats the way to go. The OE stems stick out too far & break easily.

yeah I have the slotted type, looked for a while with not much luck. Big O broke one of mine when I was getting a tire patched, so I had to bust out my last spare. Could you just drill them out and use rubber ones?

I hear you can but I've never done it. Someone over on Pirate should be able to answer that.

Yes, that's them.

Remember though there are 2 types of 12 bolts. The newer type has a 13th hole and is rated for a higher load. It is supposed to get a red O-ring.

I did read you could use one color in either rim but I can't remember if that is the red or the black. I think it's the black though. I would also offer this caution though. If the black does indeed fit both rims don't up-armor your vehicle :haha: as I'm sure the change of O-rings has something to do with the change of load rating:doah::haha:

Yea I think that sthe place i got mine from I paid less then $17 for 10 of them to my door and have no problems with them. Use lots of wd-40 on your install and clean that o ring area good. Make sure it's smooth. Shoot a lil paint on it.

I found the place from Pirate tech section.
