h1 wheels

So these are completely street legal? ie, I can run them on my DD?

Also, how narrow are they? They should take a 12.5" right?

from what ive heard the 12 bolt rims have a DOT stamp on them. they are 16.5x8.25 and the humvees run 36x12.5s so that should answer ur question bigblaze

I sandblasted my 8-bolt hummer rims and each one had a DOT stamp under a ton of paint.

So these can be run on the street? Anyone have any problems with them, or is there anything i should do before hand?

yep they are street legal. some people have run 44" boggers which are 19.50 wide on stock h1's so 12.50 is definitely fine. you got a connection for a set ben?

no, not at all:D

also, can they be run at regular pressure? ie 35psi

i believe the radial military tires hada max psi of 50psi i believe, so that would mean the rims could at least take 50 as well:D

Only the 12 bolts are rated for 50lbs!

The 8 bolts are 35lbs.

Hence the more $$$ for 12 bolts!

somewhere I read that the 8-bolt whls. have a max recommended psi of ~35 and the 12-bolt whls have max psi of 50 or 60. But I dont know why you would air a big ole tire to that much pressure, unless you like the feeling of driving a cement truck

A little more inspiration:D

Thanks for the link! I will have some specific questions about my setup - thats a great start.

I am picking my set of 12 bolt units up tomorrow. :D
where at?

Also, do you need to run the inserts, or can you run them without em?

I found a guy on ebay that was only a couple hours away from me. I do not know if the runflats are required or not. I want them in there I believe. They already have them installed and the 37" tires are at 75%

I believe if you dont have inserts or runflats then the wheel wont be beadlocked, it'll just be a regular wheel

Yeah, I am sure you are right. I dont plan on taking mine apart any sooner than I have to - they do have them installed already - surplused.

Yes, runflats are a must on H1's for them to function as beadlocks. The only other option is some other aftermarket insert, like the PVC style that is out there.

BTW- Does anyone know if the 12 or 8's have the pressure limits they do for the rim, or is it becasue they came with the tires that each did? The 8's come with the 36's bias ply's, and the 12's come with the 37" radials. So, are the pressures taken from what the military calls for on each ... or are they in fact what the rim manufacturer recommends without regard to tire choice?

anyone have pics of their 8 lugs?

I have a pic of my recentered 8 bolts if that's what you're looking for.

I'll probably be adding some more beads to the rockrings, but heres a pic for now.
