I don't get it. What doesn't pass insp? I'm assuming you're talking the state safety insp? Here, we're allowed 2 inches of tread outside the fender. I'm running 5" backspacing on 3/4 ton axles w/ 17x9s, so there is no tread outside my fenders anyway.
That really sucks! We don't have inspections her, it's just a problem if the cops hassle you. My Cherokee hangs about 4" of tire out of the severely cropped fenders, and I haven't even been talked to about it.This condition wasn't a fashion statement, it was the only way I could clear 12.50s without rubbing. That and I can't stand flares.
If it looks ok w/the lift on, that's basically what I'm going to do: 4 screws to the inner fenders, and gimme my !@)($#&*#@ inspection certificate, thank you!
EDIT: UHP has got a pretty good hard-on about tire issues.
That doesn't stick out enough to worry about, the the UHP seems to have slowed down abit on there enforcement of things like this I think its all about you attitude and how your truck looks. If you a good on the other things they they probably wont care like mudd flaps and stuff.
