I know, not what most everyone else wants.

But, I am thinking about it for the M1009. It will keep the 1/2 ton axles, so I will need 6 lug.

And, I will admit... I really only want the H1s for the looks.

Crazy?

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing for my m1009. Just got a set of the 37" hummer tires. I decided to save some money and just get some black steelies from summit. But I'm kinda wishing I did order the recentered hummer wheels because the wheels from summit keep getting pushed on backorder. 1st they said available by 3/26 now they say next week, but who knows?

I am forcing myself not to upgrade this one. Its a daily driver and a two track exploring vehicle at most.
Anything I am going to spend will be going towards the big K5.

But, I just want something a little different for the wheels on the M1009, but yet stick with the military theme. I like what I have now, but just really want some H1s on it.

H3 wheels are 6 lug

But, they wont work on an 85 K5.

But they are neither 16.5, or look good lol

I dont mind the look on a civilian K5, if they fit. But, not the look I am going for.... and they wont work.
I wont really care about the 16.5 tires either... actually I dont really think thats a plus of the H1 wheels, I think thats their downfall if anything.

Could stick on a set of 8 lug front hubs and the SF14b or a D60. Both are generally cheap because every truck has a rear axle.

Try to find a D60 or a SF14 with 3.08 gears... not going to happen.

I want to stick with this gears as they are prefect for daily driving and getting great mileage.

I say order a set up! I think a guy on pirate has some on his SAS. They could be 8 lug but I don't remember

They're heavy, not exactly balanced, and make tire changes a pain.

You planning on wheeling it?

Just do something else. Spend your money on that gymundic mud rig or one of your other fleet of vehicles.

I have recentered several sets of h1s, I have gotten almost all of them to about .030 on the runout. Thats a set of rims that will run true down the road. The only ones I haven't been able to get there were rims that were already slightly bent.

I have also driven on a couple sets at higher speeds with bbs doing the balancing act. Never had a problem. They are super heavy. Its also totally worth it to get the pvc inserts. Did I mention these things are heavy?

I love the look too. If a set of 12 bolts finds its way to me those are the wheels I will run on my Jimmy.
