air force "wing nuts" manage to do it also but it's less common they mostly blow up the 6.spews and break the gear reduction hubs

All of these vehicles I mentioned will give you a pretty good bang for your buck. If they won't, use the money you could have spent on an H1 and put it into any of these, then go run circles around it.

I would take an Australian Toyota over ANY vehicle ever offered.

I didn't know this board was bang for the buck. I thought it was about off-roading capability and the discussion therein.

I'll go check California K-12 Soccer Momma dot com when I wanna hear your opinion on what's more "capable" than an H1.

Hate to tell you, but here in the Marine Corps, 18-21yr olds manage to roll a HMMWV at least once every 2 weeks. Some just hurt the HMMWV, some hurt themselves and others, some die. Thay's why the Corps mandated that ALL tactical vehicle drivers and passengers wear Kevlar and flak jacket in the vehicles, trying to protect them a bit.

Exactly (although I should have said designed to try to prevent 19 yr olds from flopping it), now immagime the same Leatherneck in something small enough to fit into the back of a CH-53. This thing had an 85" wheelbase and was 64" wide, riding on 16x7 UDT tires. Now just to compare M998 HMMWV's #: 130" WB-almost 12 feet! and 85" wide riding on a 36x12.50. Now throw an 106mm recoilless rifle on top of the MUTT and you can see the stability problems that the Hummer was designed to address. I was not trying to call it unflippable just offering some insight for those that are in the dark. Marines are hard on equiptment, nothing will change that. Thankfully, they use more sensible Marines to drive the IFAV, usually an NCO. 2 of them fit in a 53E cabin. See it here . There's a couple cool videos of Marines firing the M2 and MK19 on the site too.

Last March, we got 34 inches of snow in 9 hours here in Denver. My stock K5 was one of a precious few vehicles on the road. I had to go to my bosses house and pull him out. I personally hate the H2, it's for yuppies. HOWEVER, any rig can get you where you wanna go, if you put enough time and money into it. Mostly, I think it comes down to driver skills. A guy in my club has a Defender D90, lifted, 36's, ARB's. Not perfect, but pretty close. Not afraid of carnage either. In the past two runs, has dinged a fair amount of sheetmetal. Still think the K5 is the greatest platform ever. The rest can kiss my blankety blankin frikafrakkin ass. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

i got to fire the Mk19 a bit when I was in... so freakin bad azz. I'd like to see a human wave style attack on a position that had several Mk19s... talk about hamburger. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Take another gander at that list...Tacoma, Samurai, Rubicon. They have frames, unless some genious engineer decided it would be brilliant to have a faux frame look, just to add another 3K to the price tag.

Go sew your balls back on dude. I know what the deal is when it comes to capable vehicles. I don't bash on vehicles I have yet to drive, which is why you won't find a post on this ENTIRE SITE about me bashing the H1 or H2.
