hack it off or replace this bracket?

hey all as some of you know im lifting my truck. The brake lines attach at the top of it and that part bolt to the frame i believe. Anyway it odviously isnt long enough, can I just hack it off or does it serve some puprpose?

That there is a load-sensitive proportioning valve for the rear brakes ... depending on how loaded the bed is it reduces the rear brakes some.

I've never seen one in person as they're often removed from trucks. You won't be towing with a lifted truck, or at least, recalibrating the thing -- assuming it works -- is beyond the ken of mere mortals.

Yank it, replumb around it.

here is a pic before I started the lift. unfortunately I only have afew hours here and there to work on it and when I do I end up needing something I dont have or Im unsure on how to do it, but ya got to learn sometime. :D
