Had to get this for the office...

I've got a GMade Buffalo, which is a CUCV Blazer.

Love these things.

Also recently did an XJ. Or rather, a pair of XJs.

That's awesome!

Is it just the squarebody that has portal axles or does the ‘72 have them too?

I believe all the TRX-4 have portals, the bodies are interchangeable. I bought the 79 as a complete kit, comes with 79 body, transmitter etc. (no battery or charger) and then had to buy the 72 Blazer body separately. There are several different TRX-4 bodies available, Bronco, Jeep, Blazer etc...

Yeah all TRX-4s have portals. SCX10 IIIs have portals too and they just released a stepside squarebody. If you want to spend a little more for an even more ridiculously detailed body, RC4WD sells their Trailfinder II with a really nice Blazer hardbody. No portals but much more "scale", down to the dual front shocks and leaf springs.

Wow, those even more expensive!

Does it coe assembled ready to drive? Controller and battery/charger included? It's been years since I've built one and there's no way I can now lol

It comes ready to run with controller but no battery/charger unfortunately.

Traxxas sells a battery/charger combo that'd be great for the TRX-4. 3s 4000MAh would give more than enough run time and with their proprietary connectors you don't have to worry about balance plugs.

It's not cheap though.

Looks great ! Those are so realistic. I have to look closely at the pics people post sometimes before I realize they are not a real full-size K5.

Build a lift and store the extra body on it for true realistic display! So many K5's spend a lot of their life in pieces waiting for us to find time/money/energy.
