Means he doesnt get on here very much. :D

Both build good stuff. I know alot of people here have had good luck with HAD but I know TW is good also. I personally would probably call HAD but I wouldn't have any problem with a TW shaft either.

I have had a couple of Tom Woods shafts he makes good stuff. He delivered a shaft to my sisters house in Salt Lake on his way to Moab one year so that I would have it.

Also he is basically local to me

Personally I'd choose HAD, but in the insterest of full disclosure he's a customer of mine. However I can vouch for the fact that he's a stand-up guy and builds a great shaft.

HAD - mine are holding up great

And to answer your other question, there are many other driveshaft companies. Many of them are jumping in the 4 wheel mags to compete with TW and HAD too.

Depends on what you want. You can usually find a decent driveshaft place local that can build about anything that is half-way normal. HAD and TW sometimes have some special parts (high angle CV's, etc...) not commonly availabe, but otherwise the local place may be able to do it.

Tom was very nice and informative to talk to. I talked to him for a 1/2 hour once about Jeep driveshafts, then never finish the project.
