Half Cab Rear Rollbar

A friend and fellow CK5er gave me this old K5 rear rollbar (thanx D!). It's kinda funny seeing this bar way at the back of the truck but I like it cause it's a neat old factory option/accessory. I've never seen one before and didn't even know they existed. Does anyone know the history on these things? Factory option, accessory item, what years they were made, etc...?

I have one also that was given to me by a CK5 member and i'm going to cut the down bars to the wheel wells off and then run some spreader bars to my smittybuilt rollbar to make a rear family cage.

lol, looks like a regular one mounted wrong. Get the front and put some runners between each of them

Pretty sure it was a factory offering--I removed one from a 78 K5 I bought for parts.

They definately aren't a "regular" one. The one I have the hoop is welded at an angle (to the mounting plates) that matches the contour of the rear topper angle when installed and some short legs that go down to the rear wheel well.

I've seen them as well. Either a factory offering or a dealer offering. Uncommon but not rare.
