I remember a 4-Wheelin' mag I got about a year ago had a picture of a sweet orange Blazer/Jimmy jumping around some dunes and stuff. In any case, it didn't have doors...just some tube-steel "half doors" that were just about enought that you wouldn't fall out....but not much more.
In any case, I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to make or have fabbed a set of jeep-like half-doors for thier blazer? I am planning on running with a soft top before long...and it'd be even cooler if I found a way to ditch those heavy doors at the same time. =) I would think, that if you had a pipe bender and knew how to weld, you could make a really simply designed one, cover the lower half with a sheet of aluminum, and then have it Line-X'ed or something. Toss in zip-out windows or something and you are set!
Any ideas? I dunno, maybe I'm just crazy....all I know is that every time I see that *4200 lb* Blazer+Bummer fiberglass body I am green with envy!
As long as I have a 350...I want to shed some lbs!
