Ok guys so im thinking of starting an XMAS project while school is out for a few weeks... and i want to make a pair of Half Doors... so guys im looking for ideas, sugestions or just your "two cents." thanks

Just out of curiosity how do you work the door latch? I have a set of doors I have been in the planning stage of doing this to and was wanting to use the factory latch system.

looks like there is a knob on top of the door itself. Maybe you just pull up on it???

It looks like it. Just did not know how it was hooked up to make it work. I guess just a fairly simple rod going straight up to that knob. A pic would be awesome.

ive seen them done many ways ... im thinking about putting a latch in the middle on top. just connected with some simple linkage.

I took out the locking mech and welded up that area so it would'nt ever lock again. took some threaded roundstock and welded it to the door latch rod pointing strait up. so yes, you just pull up on the knob and it works like a door should.
