i have a 82 chevy half ton short bed and want to make it ton and i have seen plenty of them done that way but i was wondering how you make it normal width when you put normal wheels on a ton do i need a certain 14 bolt or do i have to shorten the axle tubes

The axels are the same width if you use a 14b out of a 1ton you will need to move spring perches but thats it everything els should bolt in.

The front D60 is a direct swap. The 14FF from a 3/4 ton and 1 ton (1 ton SRW = Single Rear Wheel) are the same with the exception of the spring perch spacing and shock mounts. For the rear if you get a 14FF from a 3/4 ton it is a direct swap with the exception of a conversion u-joint.
