Ok so i have a good CB, but i have been wanting a HAMM for a while now. How do you go about getting your license? i know there is a test and it no longer requires morse code, but is there like a book to read or something?

and i was checkin out all the pictures in one of the other threads...what the crap are all those different radios and boxes...the ones on desks with keyboards and cooling fans? i dont know what they are but i want them!:eek1:

Hi,

Theres severl publications for intorduction into Ham or Amateur radio
The ARRL has good information on their main page as does W5YI
www.arrl.org
http://www.w5yi.org/

There are also several different websites with intor material and study guides.
Normally the tests are given by VEC's (Volunteer Exam Coordiantors) at numrous places.

www.ac6v.com is also a good place to find information. Also try

Theres many different ways to communicate with Ham radio. The pictures you were probably looking at contained multi-band/mode transmitters, amplifiers, antenna tuners, etc.

Remember, Real radios glow in the dark !!
