So since it was my 9/80 Friday off I was working on my cage, I was using my band saw to notch and was holding across the blade, it was the only way I could hold it. I had done this plenty times today but this time I was pushing thru hard I guess and I ALMOST didn't get stoped in time.

My hand just kissed the blade enough to scratch it. It barly bled, but it did scare me a bit. IF it would have burried in my hand it would have been bad, and I was by myself all day. That was a close one. Why do women get all bent when you tell them you almost got hurt? My woman got pissy and told me to be careful, as if I didn't know . Where's the sympathy lovin :D.

Damn, take it easy. :D

How's your mom doing?

Thanks for asking, she is doing actually pretty good, she is not using OXY about 70/80 % of the time. She is forgoing treatment for the Cancer they did not get. Sugery didn't get it all. She does not want to deal with Kemo or Radiation. She says the docs say its so small and not the kind that spreads fast, so she wants to just live the rest of her days out till there up. I dont know if its the best way to go but I dont want to see her sick for the rest of her life either, how ever long it is.

Wow, I feel for you man. :(

If it makes you feel any better, I went to cut the "bowl" off of a rockwell last weekend. We made an arbor for an old industrial grinder, and put an old chop saw blade on it. I stopped to inspect my hacking and forgot just how big that wheel was and put a nice slice in my inner thigh. Good thing it wasn't a few inches higher. :eek1:

I will post cage progress pics sunday evening.

Man, that ain't nothin, last night my hand got tore up by a freakin gerbil that got loose on our van. Before the jokes come- they're an Easter gift for the kids.

He was an inch away from losing his hand. I was several away from losing my manhood, and you got attacked by a gerbil. Where's the giant Milwaukee's Best can when I need one?:haha:

Having been married for 40 years, I can tell you that's the way they say "I love you" and express care when you've been a dumba**. I, unfortunately, have heard the same or similar on numerous occasions.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

Well I did it again today . I was using a 1 1/2 drum sander in a air die grinder fine tuning a notch on a piece of tube and sure enough it jumped out and bit me. 60 drit does a great job at removing skin and your finger nail. I have a 1/4 in wide flat spot on my nail. happy as hell it didn't grind thru, that would have hurt like hell.

I was removing my Mastercraft seat out of the truck for mockup, it was sitting on 4x4's. One of the 3ft long 4x4's fall directly on my foot. I thought it broke it at first but I think it just bruised the hell out of it. that hurt worse then my thumb. Im beating myself up but making good progress on my cage atleast.

Dude, we need pics of your cage, not all your body carnage. :deal: :D

Tomorrow after I get as much done as I can for the weekend I was going to post a thread with a bunch of pics. Here is a teaser pic :D. NO the hammer is not part of the cage!

That hand of yours is starting to look like the poster-child for Neosporin....

:D

I have a suggestion, We have a industrial supply house in my area that sells 30 different types of gloves. Maybe there is one in your area. I prefer the goat skin gloves.

I have a Grainger a couple of miles away, they carry a ton of different types of gloves. I should wear gloves, and I like to at times, I just am out of any "good" gloves like Mechanics gloves right now. I dont think I would have wanted to be wearing gloves when I kissed the band saw though. Would have sucked my hand in possibly. It would have helped the thumb though.

Yeah my craftsman gloves have more cuts than I like to count. I just cant imagine how many times I would have grazed my hand with a cutoff wheel if I didnt have them on.

My latest folly is smashing my finger between a hammer and my crossmember. My nail cracked at the cudicle and there is a nice pool of blood under my nail. Its definatly gonna come off eventually......
