Learned a new trick today--I had only a bar of soap to wash my greasy hands,no dishwashing detergent or other soap around--but I saw a box of baking soda near the sink,and I heard it was a good cleaning agent,its a bit like pumice in the way it acts like an abrasive...I lathered up good and added some baking soda,and to my suprise it took off 99% of the grease,even the crud under my fingernails I usually have to dig out with a knife!....I thought I'd pass this along to others who might find themselves in a situation where you only have regular soap and no other more powerful stuff to use--nearly every kitchen has baking soda in it...I guess this is why the laundry version is called "washing soda!"...
