What's wrong with using a bike brake handle? Why the need to use a bike's friction shifter?

...cause in any stick-shifted vehicle I drive I almost always wind up using the shifter as a hand rest while steering with the left hand at 12 o'clock.

Sometimes you want the system to hold a particular setting w/o having your hand on the lever.

One way to semi-cheat this w/ and EFI system is to install a diode and a switch to tell the computer that the A/C is on when it really isn't. Not much adjustability, but it does raise the idle speed.

My ambulance has a hand throttle. Its not meant for rapid changes, just setting higher rpms. Its a big red knob under the dash, just turn clockwise to raisespeed. Maybe look for some old ammbulances in junkyards, get the parts off one of them.

maybe I missed it, but I used to see a guy who had an old lawn tractor throtle control. I thought it was the coolest thing for a drag car. It was a really nice camero everything clean and polished, then you see the silly little throtle control. The Turtle was idle,then slide it back to Rabit to go fast.
It was funny anyway.
