Woo hoo!

Two great things came from the year 1911 - Colt .45 1911 Government pistol, and our beloved bowtie Chevys....:thumb:

Chevy should have produced a 100 year anniversary repop of a 69' 427 big block Camaro in the original 69' body. Just sayin. :D

The Colt pistol was formally adopted by the Army on March 29, 1911, thus gaining its designation, M1911. Then the Navy and Marine Corps adopted it in 1913.

I love my Customized race gun quality Colt series 80 Government stainless .45 that was made in 1984! The previous owner used it for Competition handgun shooting so it had seen lots of rounds thru it.

It is my CCW and it has a lot of mods and custom parts - custom fitted hi beavertail safety, hammer, trigger, sear, thumb safety, match grade barrel and lug, custom springs, etc.

Which was ADOPTED in 1911 as the U.S. military pistol, evaluated 1906-1910, introduced late 1890s.

My bad, poor wording on my part. I meant adopted. Either way awesome pistol and happy birthday chebby.
