There it went, another year has passed. I'd like to take this opportunity and thank the CK5 brotherhood for supporting our business! Without you guys it just wouldn't be. We've always considered CK5 to be our home ground and will always be here for you guys!
This past year we didn't put out quite as many new products, but more focused on streamlining some of the current products. New bending equipment had a huge part in allowing us to change a good many products. Spring plates, Spring perches and bumpers are some that come to mind. Some other process changes allowed a reduction in small parts prices on the website. Tabs and gussets and the like.
Another change that was made this past year, the office operations headed up by Tracy moved to the shop location. This was a huge benefit for both us and our customers. Tracy and I are able to communicate more rapidly and customers now have but one phone number to dial for any questions, whether it be shipping costs, technical or anything else needed.
Quite a bit of rearranging in the shop took place and I don't think that will end anytime soon. Just about the time you think you have a machine where you want it, something changes and your moving it again. Such is the fabrication business. We're heading in to the new year with several rearrangements in mind already. All in the name of flow and faster response times.
At this point in time I'd like to introduce my partner. Brett Nelson, A.K.A. Stomper from here on CK5. Brett came on board this past year and has added a great deal to the business. He is a machinist by trade which is one area, I'm not ashamed to say, I don't have the expertise. I'd say new partner but actually we've been working in concert for quite some time. Nothing was ever made public until now for several reasons. Biggest reason being we don't like rocking the boat. It sure has been nice to bounce ideas off someone and brainstorm things together.
Check out my new Avatar! Our logo is officially changing as of Jan. 1st. We decided we wanted something with a little more "Jump out at ya." The hoodies that ya'll have been after are being printed with the new logo. Our slogan changed along with the logo as well. I'll leave that for you to discover when ya get the hoodies or when we get the website updated with the slogan. Can't spill all the beans in one paragraph!!!
There are several new products in the works right now, I won't go into to many details as to the various "situations" because that's just not "how we roll!" I will tell you this, It's gona be one hell of a year! If your just getting into a full on build, keep an eye on the website or the vendors showcase here on CK5, you won't regret it.
2008 we have definite plans for getting out of the shop and getting out there to wheel with you guys! Come hell or high water we will be at Blazer Bash 2008. We are trying to make plans to get to a few other events as well. So hopefully we'll see you there!
Happy new year from the DIY4X crew!
