Well I am in the market for a paint gun and was looking at the harbor frieght ones. What I am looking for is a gun that I can spray primer and a Gun that I can use for paint. The main things I am painting are frames, diffs, snowplows. Things that don't have to be perfect but decent. The other reason is at my shop we have to many people useing the paint guns here and Im tired of grabing one and it being broke or blamed for not cleaning it right. Thanks in advance Denny

I primed and painted my dodge with a harbor freight gun and rustoleum primer then paint. The gun actually worked better than I thought it would considering how thick I mixed the paint.

They should be fine for that. I've never used one but knew someone that did. He didn't have any complaints and painted cars and bikes with it. Not show quality jobs but they looked pretty nice

The primer, white and green were painted with a HF gun on my project below.

My only recommendation with any gun is keep it clean and a water separator before the gun.

just gotta watch what your getting thinner on with the cheaper HF stuff... they have been known to have plastic knobs and such..

Ya I figured they would be ok. I don't do alot of stuff but when I do it's nice to have a gun that works. :woot: We have a full paint booth so haveing all the rest of the stuff isnt a issue. It's just one of those things when it's nice to have your own.

I've used one quite a bit. They work just fine for most all jobs. It would be best to get one of their HVLP guns. little more $ but worth it all the way. Mine seems to be decent quality,,,, all metal construction, easy enough to clean and adjust.

I made this:

I used the purple HVLP spraygun, from HF.
I also used a good quality moisture trap.

EDIT:

I rolled on the first two coats.
Then, I sanded the crap out of it, and hit it with the gun.
