Anybody ever use those hard plasic covers lmc sells for the dash pad. Are they any good? Looking for input on fit and appearance. If I end up keeping my dash, I need to cover it as it is all cracked up. I don't want to buy a new one, and I don't like the carpet covers. Thanks

I have not used one , but have seen one and it looked like a cap . Why not remove yours and fill it in with something and paint it . Or perhaps remove and take off the trim and vents , wrap with your favorite fabric , put trim back on , staple on the underside , and put back on . /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I also remember Shawn mention he knew of something to put on it that fills the cracks good if you want to repaint it /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Hmm, thats an idea. I already painted it. I'll ask Shawn about that though. I may not have to mess with it thought now. Just made a big part hookup on the way home from work.

for a cracked dash I would simply cheap out on this....

On my 75 I took superglue, or rubber cemment, filled the crack, waited a day and sanded it down, then went to a-zone and picked up some vinal dye..and prepped and painted..

dash still looks great to this day

Any thoughts on the section where the speaker grills were? I need to clean mine up but the speaker grille area is just about gone.

I used a Coverlay dash...on my Black k5...
It's hard to tell...that it's a cover..
