Hard shift into reverse

My 91 Jimmy has the 4l60e trans. After starting the rig and putting gear selector into reverse with foot on brake it engages with a hard jerk. Any ideas? I don't feel like I'm getting all engine power in forward gears, especially its and 2nd. Feel hesitation...

Check the driveshaft U-joints.

I've checked bumper to bumper and she tight. Completed an engine tune up as well... I'm thinking it has to be something with the trans?

Any other banging or clunking? I could be something with the tranny, but I'd want to check all the cheaper/easier possibilities first.

Have you changed your trans from it's original 700R4?

I had some hard shifting into reverse when it was cold out on my 95 yukon. I changed the fluid and filter, so far it fixed the problem.

Have you replaced the transmission mount? Mine was really old and did this.

Put a new one in and it was soooo much more smooth.
