Hard shifting question

I have a '91 Blazer, and when shifting from 2H to 4H, it takes a considerable tug. Is this normal? All other shifts seem fairly easy. This is my first 4x4, so I had nothing else to compare to. I'm assuming that the transfer case is a NP241 (going by the specs page on this site.) Thanks.

Yeah, my '91 is the same. You need to be posotive and firm, just give it a good firm pull.
