I found a good deal on some 42" tsl but the problem is they are for a 17" wheel....where in the heck does a guy find a 10" 8 lug 17?

Summit or others may have them in steelies. Should be able to find some somewhere. I did a google search and they are out there. Just not for cheap. The ones that I saw we're 140 each and up.i was seeing 17x9 more than the tens. Maybe that would work for you?

I can find em 9" wide all day long but i would think for a 15" wide tire id want a 10" wheel right?

Street driver or offroad only? Offroad only I think they would be ok, plus you could weld on beadlock rings and that will add another inch or so to the width

17x9's will be fine for a 15" wide swamper. Years ago I ran some 38x16's on a set of stock 15x8's with no problems, except for of course the half ton axles :doah: :D

Most people say don't run tires over 4-5 inches wider than the rims. They will get a lil sloppy on road at speed with the sidewall squished in. They will balloon the tires a lot as well so they may wear funny as well.i saw a few that were listing 17x10.5 as well. Maybe try searching that size.

With 42s handling should be the least of the worries.

H2s are 17x9 (maybe even 9.5) and can be found used relatively cheap.

Not trying to be a dick, but H2's are 8.5" wide. I bought a set this weekend at half price day at the local Pull-a-Part. I put a tape on them yesterday cause I thought they were 8" wide but they looked fat. Good luck finding them on the cheap. They are near impossible to buy for under $400 a set here.

As far as rim width I prefer narrow rims. Offroad you would be fine with a 9" wide wheel. Most likely would be fine on road also. It really boils down to how you want it to look. I run my 42's on a 8.25" wheel.

There are no issues with running a 9" wide wheel for those tires. The taller the tire is the less effect a narrow rim has on it......same concept as how you can have a 12" lift on a longbed pickup and the rear driveshaft angles are okay, but are a nightmare on a short K5. A 33x15 probably wouldn't work that well, but a 42x15 is not a problem. Also, I wouldn't be concerned about the rims causing wear or handling issues considering you are talking 42" bias ply Swampers. A friend of mine has ran 42's on 8" wide rims for years and used to drive his truck to the trail all of the time on the freeway on multiple hour long trips. I've ran 39.5x15's on 8" rims also for years. I do haul it on the trailer, but almost all of our off-road trips require some driving on asphalt. The street driving isn't great but have always contributed that to low tire pressures, welded rear diff, no swaybar, etc...

H2`s
Thats what I would get Cole.

H2's have 5.56" of backspacing. Keep that in mind if you decide to go that route. It's a bit more than most people expect and may cause interference issues.
