Hard top alignment pin or pins?

I only have one hard top alignment pin on the drivers side on my 87 Blazer. Is there supposed to be an alignment pin on the passenger side as well? The hard top has holes on both sides but the passenger side bed rail does not have the corresponding hole for the bolt/pin. Does aftermarket bedsides have the holes?

Dang, of all the crazy ways to save money...

I always thought of the pair as a safety net that prevented the top from sliding off and causing tons of damage while you're heading inside to start the bolts.

Since my mind is being blown: are there tops with only one hole? Is the Earth flat? Is a hotdog a sandwich?
