Hard Top Hatch Glass

Is the rear glass for the first gen. hard top hard to find? Anybody have current leads on where I can find the rear hatch glass?

I found a place that will custom make one, but they need a pattern in order to cut it. I'd rather get an original piece of glass.
 
Doug's in Iowa has the rear glass but he is not sure it would make it to Texas in one piece. I'm thinking I'm just going to use a cargo shipper instead of FEDEX or UPS. Any other ideas?
 
Usually I see the glass in the hatch. And either on CL or over on 67-72. Side glass is more common than rear too.

It's a re-pop hatch that fits (most repop hatches don't fit fyi), but it has the glass in it...maybe the glass could work for you?

They shipped it once to Montana from CA, so I assume they could ship to you too. I think most buyers are weary that it is re-pop though.

I just need the glass and not the hatch, so it's probably not gonna work out for me price wise. Doug's in Iowa has one for 100.00. I'm just trying to see if I can find a shipper at a descent price to get it to Texas.
 
Hatch Window dimensions

Could anybody go out and measure the rear hatch window for me? I'm trying to get a freight shipper to ship me a replacement window for my hatch, but they need ballpark measurements. I don't have access to my top at the moment to measure myself. Thanks.
 
That's what I needed. Much appreciated. Wonder how hard it is to install? Anybody replace the hatch glass before? Does it just require the seals and adhesive?
 
What exactly does the the rear hatch clip into? I believe my hatch has a working latch. The "prongs" on each end lock in the out position and when I turn the "T" shaped latch they contract back into the hatch. Is this how it's suppose to work? Problem is I have no idea what the "prongs" are suppose to lock onto. I think my top is missing those pieces. Anybody have any pics of how the hatch locks shut to the top?
 
The clips on the hatch are hard to find. The window isnt that hard to install if you done a windshield before
 
Is this the clip that is on the actual hardtop? I'm thinking it's where the hatch clips in? If so, my top is missing these and my hatch just flaps around. Was really wanting to repair my top and give it a chance but finding out I'm missing a bunch of vital parts.

 
Yep those are the clips. The struts that hold it up are really hard to find as well. You might try LMC to see if they have any parts.
 
My hatch actually still has working "struts" to hold the latch open.
 
Ok, so I went out last night to inspect my top and it appears my top does have the brackets, but looks like the actual "u" shaped clips aren't there. It looks like they haven't been there for awhile. Can't understand why the PO would remove the clips and not the bracket.

Anybody have spare clips? Maybe I can have some made.
