what is the name of the bit to remove the back top it looks like a torques bit with a pin in the middle oh would it be advised to replace the seals from the cab to the hard top

It is a "tamper proof Torx bit". I don't recall the size off hand though (maybe a 15?). I will try to remember to go out in the morning and check. If the top has never been off then the seals are probably alright. If the top has been off then it is more questionable. Either way, you won't know if they need replacing until you look at them or you discover a leak.

X2 any Vatozone should have one. Funny how the top is meant to come off but the bolts are "tamper proof". It's kinda like saying "yes you can, but I really wish you wouldn't".

I haven't seen one of these up close, but I suspect they are a LOT bigger than T15...T15 is the size that is used to hold the taillight lenses in place.

Not a big deal if you can drive the truck to your favorite cheap tool retailer. :)

I suspect it was more like something to meet NTSB appeasement.. Like see it is safer... average Joe can't make truck unsafe by removing topper :doah:
