Hi guys, I'm in a position to get a bunch of custom tubing done this afternoon (two vehicles and other stuff) but I don't have all the info I need. If you guys can help I can save myself a ton of time and a trip or two.

So I'm currently running a '76 Blazer with D44 up front and 14bff in the rear.

I'm extending the fronts and need to know what size fitting on the MC end.

I'm doing a disk swap on the rear and need the same info.

Is the hardline in the rear (I believe 3/16?) ok for the disk swap?

Thanks!

Well that was one way to jump into a project. No point in going to the shop more than once so I managed to pull the drums and backing plates.

The rear hardlines were sloppy anyway so I pulled them. I've read a bunch of posts and it doesn't seem that anyone is mentioning replacing the rear lines so I'll bring them with me and stay the same. :dunno:

If anyone knows the size of the hardlines (and thread size on the master cylinder end) up front that'd be great.

You cannot run hardline from the MC all the way to the front, you need a rubber line to allow for flex. When doing a disc swap in the rear, same thing goes as the caliper moves where the drums did not.

I just ordered a set of braided lines and it bolts right in.

I think i bought the front rubber lines and put them in the rear when i swapped mine to discs (since the discs are the same as the front)

Thanks, that's what I'm replacing, but I need to know the hardline thread size and whether the rear hardline (along the axle) is ok to run with the disks.

Yup, the rear hardline is fine, the rubber hoses will thread right on to them and to the calipers.

I believe the hardlines are 3/16'' and 1/4'' but its been awhile since i bought any.

Poor dead horse

Okay so I'm still looking for the OFFICIAL on hardline sizing.

I haven't decided whether to use the 3/4 or 1/2 ton calipers. I ASSUME that having different sized pistons would mean different sized lines.

Can anyone (begging, and pleading) give me the 411 on this?

While we're at it any opinions on the performance gains of the larger 3/4 ton calipers?

I don't know the answer either, but I'm not sure that anyone realizes the drastic effect that line size has on brake pressure.
