I need to get some seals for my hardtop
whats the general consensus on seals

how are the lmc seals, is the quality good?
is it worth spending more on the gm seals?

or is there another company that make good seals?

thanks

GM seals, hands down, any day of the week.

You can be cheap and deal with the consequences, or buy GM and be happy and expect 20 more years of service from them.

I've had LMC and GM seals, if GM is still selling what you need, buy them now (and more than one set if like me you will never get rid of the truck) before they quit. gmpartsdirect.com is where you need to buy them from, the dealer will rape you.

There is a post in the tech forum that is titled "post your part numbers" or something like that, I know I've posted a few seal part numbers there. Good time to get door seals too if you know they are needed.

I know for a fact you cannot get the upper rear window seal (the one that seals the rear window to the topper, u-shaped) from GM anymore, and the LMC piece was a piece of junk when I bought it. Poor quality all around, and not even constructed correctly. :(

Tailgate diagram/part number page here will get you three tailgate seal part numbers:

Aw come on Jim, I figured you'd chime in if you felt like it, didn't want to dump work on you if you were busy! :)

I know it's a fair amount of work trying to get all the part numbers and so on.

Jim's a good guy, bought lots of parts from him before.

Oh yeah, and be sure to place a huge order when you buy from Jim. :)

Didn't realize the poster was so close, or I would have certainly posted for Jim first thing.

I replaced all my hardtop seals with the ones from LMC, including the top, rear window seal. They have not leaked and fit without any problems. The rear window seal was a pain to install, but seals the window nicely.

anybody know where I can get more seal #s
I need to know the # for the long ones that seal the hardtop to the bedsides

and the top seal, thats glued to the hardtop that seals the hardtop to the cab :)

I would use ONLY OEM GM seals. I thought that I would try to save some $$ by buying the LMC crappy seals for the rear tailgate window. When I received the LMC Chinese made seals they were too long and didn't fit and seal properly, so I ended up having to spend more $$ and bought the proper OEM seals with not a single problem.

My 2 cents

jim88k5 can probably look those up for you.

The bedside ones I thought were disco'd, but I believe GM is actually still selling them.

I believe the other you mention is also available through GM...
