Hey so as some of you that have been watching my build thread know that I am in the slow but sure process of building a 355 for my truck. I just painted and installed the harmonic balancer the other day with a rented installer tool. Well the thing seams to have bottomed out and I am not sure it is still sticking out too much. Take a look at the pictures:

Remove the crank pulley bolt and take a good close up pic so I can see where the crank snout is in relation to the balancer and post that pic here.

It looks good in relation to the timing tab.

Do you have a water pump and pulleys to mount up? That way you can see if the pulleys line up.

IIRC, the balancer will bottom out. It can only go so far before it will stop.

And for future reference, I have a puller set and an installer you can borrow if you need one again.

actually, let me take a look at my 305, that should tell me if its right.

On that same note, I have an assembled 400 I can measure from the block to the balancer face or from the timing cover to the face. I can check it when I get home tonight.
