harmonic balancer rubbing after t400 swap?

So i spaced out the converter bolts and was looking for a rubbing noise and the harmonic balancer is rubbing on the cross member right under it.
Do i need to space the turbo 400 cross member down 1/2 inch or?
Or do i cut and section the cross member?
The balancer was painted black and it is nice and shiny.

You might have worn motor mounts. Or the trans adapter is WAY too high.

Look and see if the engine mounts are sacked

If you had a T350 before and went to a 400 the flexplates are different also

Had the same problem on my 74 blazer. Replaced motor mount internals( on crossmember) with poly mounts and tc mounts. Not happening anymore. My brother dropped tc crossmember down as a crutch years ago
