Well i need to replace my wire harness for the motor and cab. It's a '78 K10, but it looks the previous owner changed the harness for a newer one, because it uses flat fuses and has a fuse label ECM.

Would a harness from an '84 Suburban with a 454 work on my truck? Is there anything i should look out for?

i think u could get it to work, but its not gonna be alot of fun, but then again wiring is never fun

Should be able to use that fuse panel for your application, just need the right engine side connectors. Very little added/changed for TBI applications on the engine wiring side.

Thanks, if i don't find one soon, i'll just have to rig it up like the previous owner did. Really hate half-assing a job though.

I *thought* the connectors/fuse panel changed at some point for TBI, but maybe it was just the cover over it. TBI guys?

No need to half ass it, you just de-pin/re-pin the wires you don't need or need to move on the engine side connectors. Nothing else is different AFAIK, as long as the plugs are the same.

Well when i was checking into why half of my fuse panel went dead, i found that the previous owner twisted two wires to the same pin after cutting the wire with only 1/2 inch of usable cable lenght. So of course now the whole pin needs to be repalced and in the end it still doesn't solve all of the other problems. Besides i don't even have a wire to my oil pressure sensor, water temp or choke (i had to run a seperate ign hot wire for this). I've had to replace my wires between the battery, alternator and power distro box because he wired it all with scraps.

This is why i would rather just get a new /used harness instead of fixing the mess that's there.
