i have a 72jimmy/bigblock. been looking at many threads about piecing parts together with advance adpt. and newer master. read about "Novaks" hit i like the bracket better with them and comes in a kit. has anybody used this conversion and well did it work out please my ass hurts from sittting here for a few. thank u pic are always appreciated

I looked into their kit when doing my conversion and if I remember right, they just pieced together a bunch of the advanced adaptor stuff and factory parts into a kit.

If you know exactly what setup you have and the kit matches what you want, I'd go for it. You could probably piece it together for less money, but there's a lot of time trying to find the right way to plumb it and locating fittings that it's probably not that much difference.

bp71k5 if i understand correctly advanced adapter uses a 80s toyota L C slave and i bracket thats not very strong according to some on this site. Novak uses a earlier chevy slave and the bracket seems to bo alot stronger. ithink it is burt4x4 who did a hydro clutch using AA bracket and the 80 L C slave and a late 80s master and i works but i dont the mess of the remote reservoir, i want kind of a cleaner look. no offense to burt he did good the novak uses a "smaller" and different style looking slave. the first pic is the Novak kit and second is the Advance Adapters kit

Is your truck already a manual? If so, the clutch pedal pushrod is kinda low to use anything but a remote resouvior isnt it?

If it's a stock tranny, your clutch fork will be different than they show in the pictures. The early trucks use a cast iron fork instead of the stamped steel. The pushrod in the kit probably won't work or will need to be modified.

Be very careful. Once you change the clutch fork type, their bracket may not put the slave cylinder in the right spot and you'll need to modify it or make a new one.

If the kit doesn't exactly match your application, I'd piece it together myself so I could try out different parts from the store.

no i dont mind fabin stuff. yes my tranny is stock and a sm465 the gold push rod in the AA kit is for "steel forks" and the cast iron needs the "all thread" push rod and "wedge" or wing nut basiclly accoring to AA. please corrct me if wrong the fork in the novak kit is the one i have thats the "steel" one correct.

Yes, the cast fork needs the wedge thingy.

Either kit might work fine, just be prepared to fab a bit if necessary.

Neither kit address's what you're gonna do for a clutch master cylinder, or how that is going to be made to work with your pedals, or are you planning on swapping to hydro pedals?

ilooked at a thread awhile ago and the guy fabed a bracket off the back of his pedal, cant remember who now or can i find his thread anymore, but im planning on doing somthing similar. i bought a master off autozone. i ended up ordering AA kit, it was cheaper evan with the master. so wen it gets here and i figure somthin out ill post it. If anybody has Fabed ur pedals can i please have pics.

would u happen to have pics. i got a clutch master for a 94 cause it doesnt need the shim. im thinking im gointo thread the end of the push rod and fab somthin from my pedal. just need to find where on firewall to line up with clutch pedal wen it gets here. thanks yukonjack had pics of the hydroboost pushrod to brake pedal somthin like that

It's out in the lot

Let me get the heard moving west, and I'll go snap a picture it's out in the parking lot.

TaDa!

The awesomeness is apparent from quite a distance, before the hydro clutch is even visible. :bow:DFS  DFS

One of the rare 1st gen drivers... :haha:

I love the hydro-setup, with the Centerforce Clutch it has no problems getting power to the ground. Best of all install was a breeze! I had barely finished my beer before Justin was done with it.

thanks chefbear im assuming thats a bellhousing for hydro correct. im gonna use basicly the same hydro slave but i was hopein to get pics of the clutch pedal and how it hooked to it. or did u get the whole pedal assembly from another truck. nice rig man i like it i like it alot

Pedals are from a standard truck, I welded a piece of flatbar to the pedal arm, then ran a grade 8 bolt through it and double nutted it so it could still rotate. Getting the angle right on the pedal was the tricky part, so you get enough movement in the rod to fully depress the clutch.

I built a power bleeder out of a garden sprayer and bought another clutch master cap from the dealership. JB welded a nipple into the top of it and bled it that way. They can sometime make you totally re-think why you want hydro at all when you are trying to bleed all the air out. The power bleeder makes it a snap

was it a regular "gun" type srayer, screwed it to the nipple and screwed the cap on, im i understanding this correctly. if so thats a pretty dam good idea man. i might steal that. when bleeding with that idea do u hold the clutch down or pump it like brakes oh and where on the pedal bar did the master line up at or did it fit where the linkage would hook up thanks
